Barrister & Solicitor
Lisa Mae Scruton became a member of the Law Society of British Columbia in May 2015 following the completion of her articles with Cates Ford Oien Epp in 2014/2015. As a young lawyer, Lisa is eager to develop her professional connections and is a board member for the Kamloops Bar Association, and is a regular member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Women’s Law Forum, the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, and the Trial Lawyers Association of BC.
Lisa focuses her practice on litigation, with a preference for criminal defense and family law. Whether you require assistance with an impaired driving charge or obtaining more parenting time with your children, Lisa is at your service to help provide you with the advice and solutions you need.
Lisa’s love for the City of Kamloops has deep roots – after starting her life at Royal Inland Hospital, she eventually graduated from South Kamloops Secondary School, following which she attended Thompson Rivers University while earning both her Bachelor of Arts degree (2011) and her Juris Doctor (2014). Lisa considers herself immensely fortunate to call Kamloops her home and appreciates everything this community has to offer. Lisa is excited to be able to contribute to the betterment of Kamloops in any way she can.
When she’s not hard at work advocating for her clients, Lisa can be found appreciating and participating in the arts, cheering on the Kamloops Blazers, engaging in outdoors activities such as snowboarding in the winter or playing fastball in the summer, or spending time with her family and dog (the office mascot), Toby.
